A lonely musician's descent into the shadowy world of a living drug leads to a mysterious island where a battle of body and soul is waged. Lowlife was shot in the wilds of Nova Scotia's coastal forests during the icy, unforgiving spring of 2011. In 2012 it premiered at Fantasia and won the audience award for best feature at the Atlantic Film Festival. It received a micro-theatrical release screening in theatres, galleries and alternative spaces, reaching 24 cities in every province and territory in Canada. Lowlife is Seth Smith's first feature film.
"Clearly the most original feature debut in East Coast cinematic history… terrifying surrealism that echoes—and sometimes surpasses—the work of David Lynch and Luis Bunuel." - ATLANTIC FILM FESTIVAL
